My Arts Management career began at the tender age of 15, when I answered an advert in the local paper, seeking interest in starting up a local Youth Theatre Group at the Bromley Churchill Theatre. I wrote in – at length – and was amongst a small handful invited in to discuss the creation of a group. At this meeting I was unanimously voted Chair of the new group, and set about gathering members, drawing in talented teachers to run theatre workshops, directors to produce plays, and community organisers to help us present a fantastic float in the Bromley Carnival – where we won first prize.
I have since run Theatre Companies – both as producer and as Board member (and Chair), and three Arts Centres, alongside contributing to the Production Team that presents the Theatre & Circus Zone at Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Arts – now my only Arts Management involvement.
