David was Chair and Editor-in-Chief, along with co-Chairs Charles Ess, Kai Kimppa, and Louise Leenen, of the 13th IFIP TC9 Human Choice and Computers Conference: This Changes Everything, which took place as part of the IFIP World Computer Congress in Poznan, Poland, in September 2018.

IFIP has a formal consultative partnership relation with UNESCO and is listed as an international non-governmental organization (NGO). Technical Committee 9 (TC9) on ICTs and Society hold the Human Choice and Computers conference biennially.
