Of all who wrote in, ten letters were chosen for a first meeting, and, at aged 15, I became founding Chairman of the Churchill Theatre Youth Section.<\/p>\n<p>Much helped and guided by Allison Jowitt, among others, I organised and created activities for the group, every Sunday, for fourteen months, during which we had over 500 members at peak times.<\/p>\n<p>Our float in the Bromley Carnival, sponsored by the Churchill Theatre, won 1st prize in both charitable and commercial categories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In November 1978, the Churchill Theatre, Bromley&#8217;s then recently rebuilt flagship venue, advertised the formation of a youth drama group.
