Chinese Sex Robot – thanks to Reuters<\/p><\/div>\n

In July 2016 David gave an interview to the Hong Kong based South China Morning Post<\/a> and answered lots of questions about the future of sex robots – the hot topic of both Keynote speakers at the\u00a0Human Choice and Computers Conference<\/a> chaired by David,\u00a0at MediaCityUK<\/a>. US outlets\u00a0CBS News<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0The Observer<\/a>, UK outlets\u00a0The Times (behind paywall), the Daily Mirror<\/a> and the Daily Mail took\u00a0up part of the story<\/a>, along with local papers the Salford Star<\/a> and Mancunican Matters,<\/a>\u00a0and industry commenters Impulse Gamer<\/a>,\u00a0Computer Business Review<\/a>\u00a0and Business Insider<\/a>. \u00a0Impulse Gamer also did an interview with David<\/a>, published a few days later.<\/p>\n

As the South China Morning Post put it “\u201cOver the past decade or more, China seems to have very successfully absorbed the manufacturing capabilities [for robotics],\u201d said Kreps, chairman of the world\u2019s first conference to explore the impact of technology on sexuality that is taking place in the UK in September.”<\/p>\n

Newspaper interest in the conference began with the Press Release in early July on IFIP News<\/a>, and continued throughout September. On the first day of the conference, throughout the day, Sky News<\/a> aired a piece about the conference. \u00a0David, along with keynote speakers Charles Ess and Ghislaine Boddington, were interviewed on BBC Manchester<\/a> breakfast show on the morning of the last day of the conference. \u00a0The week after, an interview with David was broadcast on ThatsManchester Freeview Channel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
