Associate Dean Research and Innovation

In April 2019 David stepped up to take on the role of Associate Dean for Research and Innovation in Salford Business School, on an Interim basis, for the duration of the rest of the 2019/20 academic year. This was a particularly important time for the University’s researchers, as the Research and Knowledge Exchange division rolled out a programme of assessments, via 3 year plans submitted by all researchers, to determine who would be deemed as having Significant Responsibility for Research, and thereby be returned to the Research Excellence Framework 2021. A very busy period ensued, for David, getting to grips not just with the many and varied tasks associated with the role, but with this crucial new process. Feedback from the Deputy Dean, the Human Resources Business School link officer, and from Salford’s Dean of Research, confirmed that David not only managed this process effectively and efficiently, but with compassion and understanding, too.
